Quality ads with an occassional dash of humour
Nine commercials in 9½ minutes without repeats. All based on the catchy “Not too strong, not too light” jingle sung in a jovial male voice. The jingle’s lyrics are tailored to the particular situation, and the backing music changes to suit. A lot of thought has gone into the music. For example, guitar strumming with a Western feel for the Dude ranch ad; a Christmas arrangement for the Christmas ad; and a lovely pastoral introduction for the picnic ad.
Situations include: man meets his future wife on a Dude ranch, Christmas shopping (1.10), wedding anniversary (2.10), man meets his gal in the rain (3.10), couple on a picnic (4.10), showground (5.15), garden party (6.20), fly fishing (7.20), golf (8.30).
Video and audio quality are good. The ads end early at 9.30 (video continues as black).
My pick of these ads are:
0.00: Dude ranch
1.10: Christmas shopping

Wow.. Back in the day viceroy had the highest nicotine content of all cigarettes except non-filter cigs, so for being a Sissy it had a kick. If Slim Pickens was here he would say, "you beTchya, one pack of them bad boys would Hair Lip every body on Bear creek!" =)

"Hey, smoke up Johnie!"
Line from the "breakfast club" springs to mind. I can't believe they packaged the carton as a christmas gift. Uproarious!
I believe I saw a young Linda Grey puffing on a Viceroy here, but the big draw (no pun intended) was seeing the beautiful Yvonne Craig dragging on a Viceroy in the rain. Wow! Why do I feel like I want to start smoking again? Oh yeah...everybody is happy in these commercials. They are smoking Viceroy cigarettes without a care in the world!
I also never realized that Viceroy catered more to women than men. I guess it was a sissy cigarette. Now that would be a great marketing technique- More sissy men smoke Viceroy!

Good ccollection of commercials here. Viceroy did have a catchy jingle with ÂViceroyÂs got the taste thatÂs right!Â, and they must have hired a bundle of song writers because some of these ads are quite well done. Some of the guys are again getting too touchy feely with each other..
